This is an update on LIRR station improvements undertaken with funding secured by Assemblyman Bob Sweeney.

The Amityville station received a "face-lift" with a half million dollars in funds secured by Assemblyman Sweeney. Following that, additional Sweeney funding paid for removal of the older, deteriorated concrete stairways and replacement with new, long-lasting and safer aluminum stairways.

Funding secured by Assemblyman Sweeney last year and this year is paying for the removal and replacement of two stairways at the Copiague station. This work is currently underway.

A major renovation of the parking lots and areas adjacent to the station is essentially completed. New funding secured by Assemblyman Sweeney this year will pay for the removal and replacement of two stairways at Lindenhurst. That work will be started after the Copiague station work is completed.

The combined value of these projects represents over two million dollars secured by Assemblyman Sweeney for the LIRR station improvements.
