The Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad is investigating the death of an unidentified black female in Wyandanch.

On July 26 at about 4:50 p.m., a man riding his bike on Little East Neck Road, Wyandanch, reported seeing a body on the west side of the road. The body was found fully clothed, in a wooded area adjacent to the roadway, between Long island Avenue and Colonial Springs Road. The victim did not have any obvious trauma or injuries, that would indicate a cause of death.

The victim was removed to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office, where a postmortem examination will be performed to determine the cause of death.

The victim is described as a thin black female in her mid twenties, with braids in her hair.
