Suffolk County Bias Crimes Detectives have arrested five local juveniles in connection with the defacing of public property in the Village of Lindenhurst.

The incident involved extensive damage to newly constructed roadway curbing, along two blocks of New York Avenue in Lindenhurst. The youths, using sticks, carved names and other lettering into the partially cured cement necessitating the resurfacing of the curbs.

The juveniles were process at the First Precinct in West Babylon and released to the custody of their parents. They will appear in Family Court, Central Islip on a future date.
