•The movie Bringing Down the House (rated PG-13), starring Steve Martin and Queen Latifah will be shown Thursday, December 18, 3 p.m.
•Get into the holiday spirit Saturday, December 20, 2 to 3:30 p.m. when VOICES presents Miracle on 34th Street. Free tickets are available at registration.
•An AARP/ ALIVE Defensive Driving course will be held Saturday, January 10, 9:30 to 4:30 p.m. There is a $10 non-refundable fee due at registration. Babylon residents may sign-up December 16 and 17 and all other residents may sign-up thereafter.

•Don’t miss out on the library’s trip to the Nutcracker at Lincoln Center Sunday, December 14. The cost of $68.50 includes ticket and transportation. Shopping and Tea at the Plaza is planned for Wednesday, December 17. The cost is $58.50. Sign-up for both trips is underway.
•The Dr. George Goodman Memorial Film and Lecture series continues with Keeper of the Flame December 14, starring Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. The film begins at 7 p.m. There will be a discussion as well as coffee and cake following the movie.

•The December 17 Library Trustee’s meeting has been canceled.

•The Visiting Nurse Service of Suffolk County will provide blood pressure screening Thursday, December 18, 1 to 3 p.m. Screening is on a first come, first served basis.
•HICAP counselor Anne Hilbert will be at the library Thursday, December 18, 2 to 4 p.m to provide counseling for seniors who are eligible for Medicare. Seniors will be helped on a first come, first served basis.
