Heard It On The Grapevine

IT WAS BACK TO IRELAND, this time accompanied by his wife Teresa, for Judge Patrick Henry early in September. After a very successful fund raiser held last summer at the Irish Pub for the little girls of the Holy Cross Primary School in Belfast, he was able to present a check for $17,500 to the head-mistress Ann Tannay at a reception tea in the gymnasium where all of the little girls sat on the floor to listen to their American benefactor Judge Henry tell them, "you have many friends in America, and they are all praying for you." He also presented a smaller check for $500 to Elaine Burns, President of the Parents Association for something special for the girls at Christmas, and he was presented with a plaque in recognition of his tremendous contributions to the school. "The little girls sang a special song, and the faculty were so grateful and so humble and polite, it was a very gratifying experience," said Patrick. He also had an opportunity to visit with the Constable in charge of the Belfast police and told him, "the whole world is watching what happens here." He received strong assurances that the situation will be monitored and the little girls will be completely safe in the future. But it doesn’t end with this trip for Patrick — he intends to continue his Irish travels for years to come. It just proves — one person can make a difference. And there was visiting and touring the country with Teresa too as they enjoyed the beauty and wonderful scenery in the country, especially in Waterford, Wicklow and Wexford Counties with friends.

CHRISTENING DAY FOR ELIZABETH HOPE ORR on September 8th was a very special occasion, and the baby’s great grandmother Libby Orr was on hand in Rumson, New Jersey for the ceremony. The baby is the second daughter of Jane and Tim Orr. The day was a special one for another very important reason — it was big sister Madeleine’s second birthday.
