WI teacher attends National Mathematics Conference

Dian J. Korade, an eighth-grade math teacher from Udall Road Middle School in West Islip, joined other math teachers from across the country at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (N.C.T.M.) Academy in the Professional Development Institute in Virginia Beach from August 14-15. The institute provided training for mathematics teachers in grades 6 to 8 to implement N.C.T.M.’s "Principles and Standards for School Mathematics." NCTM is putting in place programs to support some of the professional development needs of mathematics teachers.
