OLPH offers new teen programs
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Life Teen in Lindenhurst is introducing some new programs for fall 2002.
XLT, gathering the first three Mondays of each month, 7:30 to 9 p.m., is for high school teens to enjoy a casual relaxed atmosphere to express their love for God through music and prayer.
Discipleship, to be held Tuesdays, 7:30 to 9 p.m. is for teens who wish to go deeper into their faith an opportunity to learn how to apply what they know to their daily lives.
God and coffee, held the first Wednesday of each month, 7:30 to 9 p.m., will offer parents a chance to discuss different issues facing the Church in a relaxed atmosphere over cake and coffee.
Parents to Teens will be held on the second Wednesday of each month, 7:30 to 9 p.m. Here parents and teens will join together for rap sessions, problem solving and discussions designed to lead to strong, loving relationships.
The Edge After School is for middle school students to get together the first and third Thursday of each month from 3 to 5 p.m. for video game contests, sports activities, homework help and simply socializing.
The Edge Club, also for middle school teens, will meet on the first three Thursdays of each month, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and includes skits, videos, music, games and contests guiding teens toward applying their faith in their everyday lives.
Club Next will be open on the first three Fridays of the month, 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. There will be live bands, karaoke and DJs. Teens will enjoy handing out together and making new friends.
As always, Life Night will continue to draw crowds to the Life Teen office on Wellwood Avenue Sundays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Each week, teens meet for videos, discussions, games, parties and just plain fun. At the same time parents gather across the street for fellowship and relaxation.
It’s a busy schedule but one that offers something for everyone. All are welcome. For further information, call the Life Teen office at 631-956-0938.
