•The Friends of The West Babylon Public Library will leave for Showboat Casino in Atlantic City Wednesday, September 4. The bus will depart 10:30 from the library. The cost is $27 for non-members, $25 members. $14 return in coin. Tickets are being sold at the library.

•A NY State Pre-licensing course will be held at the library in two parts, Wednesday and Thursday, September 4 and 5, 6 to 8:30 p.m. each night. Registration is taken on the first night of class and the $40 fee is payable at that time. A valid Learner’s Permit must be presented at the first class. Attendance at both classes in mandatory in order to be eligible to take the road test.

•Free Blood Pressure Screening will be held at the library Wednesday, September 4, 4 to 5 p.m. This service is available through the auspices of the Consolation Residence staff volunteers and the office of Legislator Angie Carpenter.

•The Finance Committee of the West Islip Public Library will meet Wednesday, September 4, 2 p.m.

•Long Island Bluesman, Little Toby Walker will be at the library Tuesday, September 10, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. This popular guitarist, singer and songwriter draws his music from many areas. Tickets are available at the Information Desk and attendees are limited to a maximum of 95.
