Elizabeth (Betty) Coles, an East Islip resident and longtime employee with Marion Clark’s dress shop in Babylon Village, died June 11, 2002. A resident of Virginia at the time of her death, she was 78 years old.

Mrs. Coles managed Marion Clark’s for more than 50 years, according to her former employee Richard McLaughlin who described her as a very loyal and valuable employee.

Janet Howell, who worked with Mrs. Coles for 26 years described her as an honest, reliable person.

"She was a wonderful lady and very attractive," said Howell of Brightwaters. "And she was a lot of fun."

Mrs. Coles was predeceased by her husband Charles and is survived by nieces and nephews. A religious service for her was held at Trinity Episcopal Church Staunton, Virginia. Private cremation followed.
