Two streets in the Town of Babylon, one in Lindenhurst and the other in North Babylon will be dedicated in honor of two residents who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, September 11th.
East Riviera Drive between Montauk Hwy. and East Santa Barbara Road in Lindenhurst will be renamed in honor or New York City firefighter Geoffrey Guja. A ceremony will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 20, at the intersection of Riviera Drive East and Santa Barbara.
The second ceremony will be held the following day, Sunday, July 21, at 10 a.m., to honor Philip Ognibene, at Belmont Avenue and Lafayette Road, North Babylon.
Guja was a longtime resident of Lindenhurst and a former resident of Massapequa. He was a boater and well known, along with his dog, at Gilgo Beach, where he spent a good part of his summers.
