Nip problem at the outset Dear Editor:

While walking on Little East Neck Road South (on April 13) I was nearing a woman walking a huge brown and black dog. As I approached them the woman drew on the leash slightly but as it was quite long, the dog crossed in front of her and lunged at me. I felt as if I’d be attacked and jumped from the walk onto the curb. After passing me and without turning around, she said, "Sorry."

In my opinion, this should be looked into by perhaps a police patrol of the area with a view to identifying the dog and walker. I feel this is a tragedy ready to happen. I know surely I will not pass by that twosome again.
