•The library is sponsoring a bus trip Wednesday, August 8 to West Point. The bus leaves the library at 7:45 a.m. Enjoy a guided tour of historic West Point. Lunch will be at the beautiful Hotel Thayer followed by a narrated cruise on the Hudson River. Fee of $69 per person non-refundable. Registration is underway.

•The program Nutrition for Seniors will be presented by Dr. Fred Feldstein Thursday, July 19, 2 p.m. Learn how small changes in what you eat can affect how your look and feel and reduce your risk for developing heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes and more. Registration for this free seminar begins July 3.

•The library is offering a bus trip/Thimble Islands Cruise and luncheon on Wednesday, July 18, 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Total cost for the trip is $58, non-refundable. Included is air-conditioned motor coach travel, narrated cruise past Victorian homes along Connecticut’s Thimble Island, lunch at the Chowder Pot Restaurant and a visit to the shops at Hilltop Orchards. Sign-up is in progress.

•A five week hands-on Computer Fundamentals course for beginners will be given at the library Mondays, July 9 through August 6, 1 to 4 p.m. This course will cover basic computer use, Microsoft Word, word processing, spreadsheets with Excel and more. Sign-up is underway. $42 fee is non-refundable.

•Friday Afternoon at the Movies presents The Patriot (rated R), June 29, 1 p.m. Monday Night at the Movies presents Where the Money Is (rated PG-13), July 2, 6:30 p.m.

•AARP will sponsor a 55 Alive Defensive Driving course Wednesday, July 11, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for those aged 50 and over. In person registration is underway and limited to West Babylon school district residents. A $10 non-refundable check payable to AARP is due at sign-up.

•The Friends of the West Babylon Public Library is sponsoring a bus trip to Atlantic City on Thursday, July 5 and Wednesday, August 1. The bus leaves the library at 10:30 a.m. The cost is $22 for member of the Friends and $24 for non-members. Everyone is invited to attend. In person registration is underway.

•Mystery Book Discussions will continue Friday, June 29 at noon. Adults and Young Adults are invited to attend. Read your favorite mystery authors, or try someone new. Then join a lively discussion and help to compile a list of recommendations for mystery fans. Tea and cookies will be available. The sessions will continue through the first week of August. The course fee is $15 and must be paid at the time of registration.

•The Travel the World Without Leaving West Islip video series will be held at the library on Monday evenings on July 2 through 30, 7 p.m. You’ll visit Israel, India, ancient Greece and more. No registration necessary and refreshments will be available. The general public is invited to attend.
