Babylon Town Tax Receiver Corinne DiSomma, stated that 2001/2002 first half taxes are due and payable in her office at 200 East Sunrise Hwy, North Lindenhurst, on or before Thursday, January 10, 2002. Full payments will also be accepted at this time. Partial payment will be accepted with penalty pursuant to Resolution #206-98 and #551-2001. Payments can also be made by using your Discover Credit Card with a convenience fee. The office hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Town Hall will be closed on December 24, 25 and 31, 2001 and January 1, 2002 for the holidays.

Anyone paying taxes by mail, pursuant to Real Property Tax Law S925 will avoid penalty and interest if the envelope bears proper postage and an official post office date stamp not later than the last day to pay in person. A private postage meter stamp is not acceptable.

Deposit in a local post office will not insure a postmark on that date. Check with your local postmaster prior to mailing.
