Logan named editor of Hospital and Health News
Babylon Village resident and Beacon reporter Janine Logan has been named editor of Hospital and Health News, which is published by the Nassau Suffolk Hospital Council (NSHC). NSHC is the association that represents the interests of Long Island’s 24 not-for-profit community and governmental hospitals. Hospital and health News is a monthly publication read by hospital administrators and trustees, health care workers, the physician community, as well as government officials, throughout Long Island and New York City communities. It features news and information about health care trends, emerging technologies, medical advancements and news about hospital’s accomplishments and innovations.
For the past seven years, Logan has served as the newspaper’s associate editor. Prior to that, she was assistant director of marketing and public relations for South Oaks Hospital and Broadlawn Manor Nursing Care Center in Amityville. In her new role, she will also provide the Hospital Council with public relations support.
A trustee with the Babylon Village Historical and Preservation Society as well as its corresponding secretary, Logan served three years as the community representative for the Babylon Elementary School Site-Based Team. She currently reports on Babylon School Board happenings for the Beacon and writes human interest/personal profile stories for this weekly.
"Janine Logan has demonstrated an unusual combination of excellent journalistic skills with deep knowledge of health care," said Peter M. Sullivan, president/CEO of NSHC and publisher of Hospital and Health News.
She holds a bachelor of science degree in communication arts from St. John’s University and is nationally accredited in the professional practice of public relations through the Public Relations Society of America.
Logan and her husband Keith, district sales manager for Entenmann’s Commercial Bakery, have resided in Babylon Village since 1987. They have four children Steven, Sean, Sophia and Sarah.
