Congratulations to the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce on a very successful Holiday Nite of Shopping. The streets were filled with holiday shoppers and the stores were too, not to mention all of the restaurants. It was truly a bustling Village with all the warmth and charm of an old-fashioned Christmas event.

And, speaking of the holidays, let’s all remember the families who lost loved ones in the world Trade Center terrorist attack. These are going to be difficult and painful weeks for them. Call or drop a line and let them know you are thinking of them and praying that the peace of the season fills their hearts and their homes.

Good start for new law

The recently passed 2-hour parking limit law is really being talked up in the Village of Babylon. It seems that the public agrees with Village Fathers (and Mothers), that it deserves a chance to work and reduce some of the parking problems that have plagued the Village for years. Undoubtedly it will take some fine tuning and sharpening to do what it is intended to do, but we agree it is a good start.

Thanks for a great season

Congratulations to the Babylon High School football team on a wonderful season. They won the County Championship—again and went on to fight for the Long Island title. The Babylon Panthers faced the Cold Spring Harbor Seahawks and fought to the final minutes, losing by 7-6. Thanks for the thrilling season and we’re looking forward to the return next year of two key players, Jon Carr and Trevon Rodney who will, we believe, lift us to another championship.
