On Sunday evening, December 16, 5 p.m. thousands of votive candles will be lit along the streets of the Bay Shore neighborhoods in celebration of the joy of the season and pride in our town.

Don’t leave your street in the dark. Take part in this holiday tradition unique on Long Island to Bay Shore.

Street captains will help organize this event by passing out flyers and delivering Light the Night kits to their blocks. Daphne Hoffman is keeping a map of Bay Shore and Brightwaters to make sure that as many streets as possible participate in this incredibly beautiful event. Almost every street south of Union already has a designated captain; however street captains are needed for areas north of Union. Kits will also be sold at many local stores.
