Legislator Maxine Postal (D-Amityville) recognized Thomas Cronogue, chief of the Wyandanch-Wheatly Heights Ambulance Corps, as Fire and Rescue Volunteer of 2001 for his outstanding commitment to public health. Cronogue is a Nassau County Police Officer and EMS dispatch instructor at the Nassau Police Academy and a longtime volunteer and emergency medical services instructor in Suffolk County.
