Books are brain food - Read!

The John F. Kennedy Intermediate School, in the Deer Park School District, participated in the 12th annual Great New York ReadAloud, the largest one-day reading celebration in the nation. The JFK library invited administrators, staff and faculty to read aloud from their favorite books, discuss the immense role reading has played in their lives and explain how helpful it is in their professions. To the enjoyment of Mrs. Marck’s fourth grade class, Assistant Superintendent of Business and Technology Craig Carr read Edward Fudwupper Fibbed Big. Kathy Leibow, a school librarian read The Ink Drinker to Mrs. Haas’ delighted third grade class.

The theme for this year’s Great New York ReadAloud was Books are Brain Food - Read. The New York State Library, the New York Library Association and 12 other organizations help made this annual event such a huge success.
