+Kristy M. Eiring, a senior marketing major and Joshua M. Markow, a sophomore, both of Lindenhurst were named to the dean's list at the State University of New York at Oswego, Oswego, New York for the spring 2001 semester.
+Aimee Kathleen Marine, of Babylon, a senior elementary education major, was named to the dean's list at the University of Deleware, Newark, Delaware for the spring 2001 semester.
+Gregory Stanton, of West Islip, was named to the dean's list at Columbia University, New York, New York for the spring 2001 semester.
+Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kaczanowski, of West Islip, announce the graduation of their son, Michael from medical school. The degree of M.D. was conferred in a stirring ceremony held June 12 at Lincoln Centers' Avery Fisher Hall. A graduate of St. George's University, Grenada, Dr. Kaczanowski has been accepted in the Yale University/Norwalk Hospital Internal Medicine residency program in Norwalk, Connecticut.

+Katie Cook, of Babylon, has been elected junior class president of the class of 2003 at Springfield College, Springfield, Massachusetts for 2001-2002 academic year. Cook, who is a movement and sports studies major, is the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Richard Cook.
+At the commencement ceremonies at the University of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont, the following students were awarded degrees: From Babylon John-Paul S. LaMothe received a bachelor of arts in history and Paul Y. Lee, of North Babylon, received a bachelor of science in physical therapy.
+Adam G. Szakmary, of West Islip, graduated from the University of Rhode Island, May 20.
+Lisa Cardona, of West Islip, was awarded her bachelor of arts from Tufts University, Medford/Somerville, Massachusetts and was named to the dean's list for the spring 2001 semester.
+Sean F. Howlett, of West Islip, a member of the United States Air Force Academy Class of 2002 was selected to both the dean's list and commandant's list for the spring 2001 semester. Cadet First Class Howlett, executive officer of the Academy's Drum and Bugle Corps was voted Corpsman of the Year. He is an American/Military history major and was also selected as squadron commander for cadet survival training this summer at the Academy. He serves as honor officer of his squadron - Eagle 8. He is a graduate of the West Islip High School, class of 1998.
+Sarah Snyder, of North Babylon, has been named a recipient of the Fox Trust scholarship at The King's College, New York, New York. Snyder, who is a product of home schooling, entered college at age 16. She is the daughter of Rev. John and Shirin Snyder of

North Babylon, where Rev. Snyder serves as minister at the First Presbyterian Church of Babylon.
+The following area students were awarded degrees from Providence College, Providence, Rhode Island: From West Islip, is Dennis Fitzharris who received a bachelor's degree in management; from West Islip are Erin Green who was awarded a bachelor's degree in accountancy, cum laude and Jeremy de Roxas, of West Islip, who was awarded a bachelor's degree in political science, magna cum laude and from West Babylon, Kristine Russo, who was award a bachelor's degree in political science, magna cum laude.
