Town of Babylon recently honored Fred Masterson with a certificate of special recognition. Masterson is member of the Town of Babylon's Public Safety Department. His quick thinking and outstanding work saved the life of an adult female at Overlook Beach. The John F. Kennedy Intermediate School, in the Deer Park School District, participated in the 12th annual Great New York ReadAloud, the largest one-day reading celebration in the nation. The JFK library invited administrators, staff and faculty to read aloud from their favorite books, discuss the immense role reading has played in their lives and explain how helpful it is in their professions. We cannot say enough about our wonderful volunteer firefighters and the work they did at the scene of the Narragansett Inn fire on Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst. Every department in the Town of Babylon, as well as the West Islip Fire Department and the Wyandanch- Wheatley Heights rescue service rushed to the scene of this tremendous blaze. More...
