Annual Paumanauke Pow-Wow coming
On August 11 and 12, the Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts (BaCCA), the Town of Babylon and the Pow-Wow Committee present the 21st annual Paumanauke Pow-Wow and Native American Festival at Tanner Park, Copiague. This is their 21st years of honoring and preserving the traditions of the Native American people.
The Paumanauke Pow-Wow offers the public an opportunity to be immersed in Native American culture: traditional dancers, audience participation, specialty dances, great native good, craft contests, dance competitions and shopping from over 70 Native American vendors. Observe master craftsmen hone their skills.
Gates will open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, rain or shine. Admission is a donation of $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for children, age five to 12 years old. Children under five are free.
