Dear Editor:

I read with interest the editorial, Finding Life and Solice in the Soil, by Carolyn James (Babylon Beacon, June 7). I, too, am a "keeper of the graves," and I agree with Mrs. James, that it is not depressing, but therapeutic.

Our parent’s generation, lived through two World Wars and a horrific depression, which left them almost completed "wiped out." They did the best they could to care and provide for their children; and they did well!

When I go to St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Babylon, I see other "keepers" there, and I’m happy to be one of them. But I worry, who will do it when I’m gone?
