	In the picture, Bryce Kirshbaum, a Babylon High School student, received the annual Bausch and Lomb Science Award from Science Director Mr. Vultaggio.  This award enables Kirshbaum to apply for both a Bausch and Lomb and Xerox scholarship to the University of Rochester. 	Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center held the 41st annual Samaritans dinner, Tuesday, May 15 at John Anthony's on the Water in Babylon.  The event raised $20,000 to benefit the Hospital's new Center for Emergency Medicine and Trauma.  Honored guests were treated with an elaborate cocktail hour surrounded by views of the Great South Bay. Father Lawrence Bellew offered the invocation.  Board member Doug Chapey introduced Craig Smestad, M.D. who spoke about the new Center and acknowledged many individuals who were part of  its planning and completion.  Chairman of the Board of Governors Richard C. Dunne acknowledged two grants that the Hospital had recently received, one from NYS Senator Owen John's office and one from the Roslyn Savings Foundation.  In the picture, left to right, are Malachy McCourt and President and CEO Richard J. Murphy.
