•The program Feature Movies Filmed on Beautiful Long Island continues on August 15 at 6:30 p.m. with Wall Street (rated R), starring Michael Douglas and Charlie Sheen.

•Is a health career for you? Come to the library on Wednesday, August 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. and hear Andrea Bhella from Suffolk County Community College discuss many of the programs available. Registration for this free program is underway.

•The library will be hosting a bus trip to the Culinary Institute of America, Wednesday, August 23. The bus leaves the library at 9 a.m. and returns at approximately 6:30 p.m. The cost of $55 includes a delicious four-course brunch and guided tour of the Riverside campus. Registration is underway.

•The Music Under the Stars concert series continues Thursday, August 17, 7:30 p.m. with Memories of Swing - Best of Big Bands. Performances take place in the Bandshell at Dr. George King Park, Bay Shore. Bring folding chairs, the performance is free.

•A 12-hour Computer Comfort course is being offered August 14, 15, 17 and 18, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. This hands-on course conducted by staff from Western Suffolk BOCES Business and Industry includes word processing, money management, e-mail and Internet access. Non-refundable fee of $40 for residents and $50 for non-residents is due at registration.

•The library will hold a one-session Defensive Driving course given by Empire Safety Council Saturday, August 19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. By attending and successfully completing this course you can receive a 10 percent reduction on motor vehicle insurance fee. •The library is sponsoring a bus trip to the 25th annual Hampton Classic Horse Show with lunch and tour of Southampton, Wednesday, August 30. The non-refundable cost of $51 per person includes a guided tour of the grounds and a chance to view the jumping competition, full lunch at Publick House and narrated Coach tour of Southampton.
