Joseph "Buddy" Veth, of Deer Park, died July 16, 2000 at the age of 47. Mr. Veth was a dedicated employee of Con Edison, New York City, a proud member of AOH Division 7 and Greenwood Lake Elks. He is survived by his wife Penny Hallenback; his mother, Margaret; his sister, Margaret; his brothers, Michael and Matthew; his stepdaughters Kelly and Kara Hallenback and granddaughter, Alexa. His father, Joseph, predeceased.

A Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial was said at Sts. Cyril & Methodius R.c. Church, Deer Park. Interment was in St. Charles, Farmingdale. Arrangements were under the direction of the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Homes of East Islip and West Islip.
