Robert P. Moore, 62, resident of Lindenhurst

Robert P. Moore, loving father and sports enthusiast, died on March 6, 2000. He was 62. "He was always there for anything we wanted...we came first," daughter Lisa Reahl said.

Mr. Moore was born and raised in New York City. He also lived in Queens before settling in Lindenhurst 29 years ago. He worked for White Rose warehouse in Farmingdale before retiring.

An Army veteran, Mr. Moore served from 1961 to 1963. He saw active duty during the Berlin crisis.

An avid sports fan, Mr. Moore liked all athletics, and enjoyed watching the Yankess and the Rangers. He also loved to go to his son’s baseball games when he played for Lindenhurst High School. "He never missed one of my brother’s games," Reahl said.

Mr. Moore also enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Shannon Reahl. "He always played with her and babysat her," Reahl said.

Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Maureen. He is also survived by his children; Tara Debek and her husband Derek of Babylon, Lisa Reahl and her husband John of Babylon, and Robert P. Moore, Jr. and his wife Tara of Lindenhurst. In addition, he is survived by his granddaughter, Shannon.

Mr. Moore reposed at the Lindenhurst Funeral Home in Lindenhurst. A Mass was said on March 10 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church in Lindenhurst. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton.
