•The library is sponsoring a bus trip "Rediscover a Sunday in Brooklyn," Sunday, April 30, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The trip includes a visit to Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, lunch at an 18th century restaurant and a narrated tour of historic sites in Brooklyn. •The annual West Islip Budget Vote will be held at the library Tuesday, April 4, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. If you have not voted in a school or political election within the last five years you must register to vote for the budget.

•The library will host a Young Adult Job Fair Friday, March 31, 4 to 5:30 p.m. for those 16 years old and older who are looking for a part-time or summer job.

•VITA Tax Help will continue at the library on Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through April 15. AARP Tax Help will continue on Mondays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through April 10.

•A New York State Pre-licensing course will be held on two nights, Wednesday and Thursday, April 5 and 6, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Present a valid Learner’s Permit and $40 course fee on the first night. Attendance at both classes mandatory in order to be eligible to take the road test.

•The Taproot Workshops, a 10-week creative writing course for Senior Citizens will begin April 5 and continue each Friday through May 5. The workshops will then continue at the Deer Park Library beginning May 13. $60 fee, registration underway.
