Actions speak louder...

Dear Editor,

On Thursday, 9/15/05, President Bush recycled the same words he used to rally us behind our involvement in Iraq. This time, "We will do what it takes" referred to the hurricane disaster that enveloped the Gulf Coast. In his speech were words of compassion and purpose. It is in his actions, which secure the objectives he has stated, that will rally our nation behind him. Now, we will face another coastal hurricane and more tragedy for our fellow Americans. We don’t need another photo-op and more rhetoric.

Words that are used to create a feel good mood, are useless when there are no good feelings to experience.

The pen is mightier than the sword, only when the ink is truth and the words are everlasting.

Tony Mignone, Massapequa Park
