Lindenhurst Middle School music programs
triumph at regional competition

On May 13, the Lindenhurst Middle School jazz band, directed by Anthony Oliveto, and the Middle School select chorus, co-directed by Kathleen Reilly and Candice Rice, headed to Six Flags for the annual Music in the Parks competition. The jazz band placed first with a rating of excellent and the chorus came in second with a rating of superior.

Together, the Middle School groups won the coveted Espirit Di Corp award, which is given to the school that demonstrates the most polite and spirited behavior throughout the competition. The judges noted they were impressed with how the Middle School clapped for every group during the awards ceremony.
