Susan M. Clyne Memorial Golf Outing benefits Lindenhurst students
On August 1, Lindenhurst residents, school administrators, and the business community gathered for the Fourth Annual Susan M. Clyne Memorial Golf Outing. The tournament is held each year in memory of Susan Clyne, a Lindenhurst resident and mother of four who was a victim of the September 11th World Trade Center tragedy.
All 88 golfers had a great time at the golf outing, as they tried to conquer the course at Bergen Point Country Club. Contests such as the Longest Drive, the Lowest Score, and the Most Honest Player kept the competition thriving. The fun, however, was all in the name of a great cause. All money raised from the tournament benefited the Susan M. Clyne Foundation which has generously provided the Lindenhurst School District with money to establish state-of-the-art computer labs throughout district schools.
This year’s tournament alone raised approximately $11,275 which will be used to build a new digital video computer lab at Lindenhurst High School.
