Babylon elementary participates in PTA reading program
The Babylon kindergarten through sixth grade PTA recently held its Parents as Reading Partners Read-a-thon. In the elementary school this year the theme was Exercise Your Mind, Read. The children read 10 books and earned a marker. They then used their marker to vote on their favorite sports or teams. In the end soccer beat baseball, Yankees beat Mets and swimming beat bicycling. The children in all read almost 9,000 books during the three-week Read-a-thon.
