West Islip grads win at Stonehill College

West Islip graduates Kristin Darrell and Christa LaRocco, Class of 2004, have helped the Stonehill College women’s lacrosse team win the NCAA Division II National Lacrosse Championship. Additionally, Darrell has received top conference accolades. During her freshman year at Stonehill, Darrell had 56 goals and 14 assists for a total of 70 points and has received Freshman of the Year Northeast-10 Conference, First Team All-Regional, and Second Team All-American honors. LaRocco scored 12 goals and nine assists for a total of 21 points. Stonehill is located in Massachusetts, 22 miles from Boston. Says Darrell’s family, "It has been quite an amazing year watching them play" on this team in its perfect season.
