Pre-K graduation at Babylon High School

The 27th annual pre-school graduation - an integral part of the child psychology course offered at Babylon High School - was held this month. Led by teacher Cindy Theiss, this course can be taken for college credit through the SCALE Program at C.W. Post College, and consists of juniors and seniors who are considering elementary education and child development as future careers. These student-teachers work with the four-year-olds on age-appropriate art, music, math, science, story and game time. At this year’s commencement, music teacher Ingrid Hancock brought Donna Harz and Donna Grosso’s kindergarten classes to welcome the pre-schoolers to kindergarten in the fall. They’re shown at the ceremony singing I Like Being Little A Lot. Also performing were the High School Chordettes with Director Melissa SanFillipo and piano accompaniment by music teacher Brian Kroll. Assisting Theiss were teacher aides Linda McGarvey and Queens College intern Maureen Furci. Twenty six pre-schoolers graduated.
