West Babylon School District presented with literacy workshops
     Teachers in the West Babylon School District were recently presented with workshops from national literacy expert, Laura Robb. The West Babylon School District’s kindergarten through grade 12 literacy initiative is based upon Robb’s research in the field of strategy-based learning.

     Ranked in the top 25 of his graduating class with a 1350 SAT score, an unweighted grade point average of 3.951, and co-president of the National Honor Society, Bay Shore High School student Chris Gloor is an impressive presence in the classroom as well as on the baseball and soccer fields.

     Trevor Romanzi, of Bay Shore High School, received the All- Suffolk County Tennis Award in a three-set match in the Division II Conference. Romanzi is an 11th grader playing in the first singles position.

     After reading the story Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown, first graders in Phyllis Tedeschi’s class at the John Quincy Adams Elementary School in Deer Park created a flat person to resemble themselves, which they then mailed to a friend or relative living in a different state or country.

Lindenhurst elementary students participate in National simultaneous exercise program
     On the afternoon of May 4, elementary students across the Lindenhurst School District took to the playing fields for a little exercise and fun. As part of the national ACES (All Children Exercising Simultaneously) program, students spent 35 minutes exercising together.
