Garden Club
The members of the Sumpwams Garden Club welcomed Martha Dodson to their October 11 meeting. Dodson is the winner of many design awards including the Tricolor ribbon. She explained and demonstrated several designs with competition in mind but with a sense of humor while designing. The types of designs were: a breakfast niche, a mass arrangement, a tubular design, a transparency and a creative design. This learning experience is of invaluable help to members as they enter the Garden Club Show.
The special annual Garden Club Luncheon will be held November 3 at John Anthony’s on the Water. It is entitled Dragonflies and Roses. The guest speaker and demonstrator will be Ian Tonnessen, an instructor and lecturer at the N.Y. Botanical Garden. Members of the public are welcome at this event and also at club meetings.
