Republic Airport open house – Saturday, October 30th

From today's corporate jets to World War II fighters - Aviation Day at New York's top general aviation airport will feature aircraft on public view.

On Saturday, October 30, 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Republic Airport, Route 110, Farmingdale, will host a free open house featuring nearly a dozen aircraft and helicopters that range from today’s corporate jets that serve our economy to historic World War II aircraft that defended our nation. Held just prior to Halloween, "Aviation Day at Republic Airport" will also feature a costume contest whereby the adult winner will be offered a flight experience on a vintage "warbird" and the winning

youngster will be given an Avirex flight jacket.

Republic Airport has served the region since 1927 and today acts as an air bridge between Long Island and a world wide economy. It is the busiest general aviation airport in the state, not only serving scores of aircraft but is used in the defense of the New York metro area and has acted as the base of operations for emergency preparedness drills that ensure Long Island’s ability to respond to the unexpected.
