Let’s hear it for the Western Suffolk Champs!

Three cheers for the Western Suffolk Champions! Deer Park High School students Tom DePrima, Lily Hakim, Nick Herbold, Mike True, and Henry Wittenzellner competed in the Long Island Challenge and won the impressive title of Western Suffolk Champions.

A quick-response contest, the Long Island Challenge is comprised of academic questions, including historical and geographical questions about Long Island. Facing single elimination, Tom, Lily, Nick, Mike, and Henry’s abundant knowledge propelled their team to be the victors of Western Suffolk County.

"The Long Island Challenge is a prestigious event," Deer Park High School Principal Owen Spanier said. "I am awed by our students’ accomplishments. Their display of knowledge is truly amazing; I am beyond proud."
