Town of Babylon swimming registration information Supervisor Steven Bellone announced that once again the Town of Babylon Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs will offer both progressive swim lessons and specialty aquatic swim lessons. All lessons incorporate guidelines set forth by the American Red Cross. "The Town of Babylon offers the most comprehensive program in Suffolk County," said Supervisor Bellone adding "with mail-in registration residents can avoid both long lines and having to take off from work to register their children in recreation programs." Summer instruction will be provided at five town pools. Due to the complete renovation of the Phelps Lane Pool Complex, there will be no swimming lessons offered at this facility this summer. Therefore, the town will be offering two sessions of swimming lessons at Fabio Buttitta, Anthony Sanchez and North Lindenhurst pools to better accommodate residents. Lessons are available for ages one year to adult. All lessons are scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Session I will run from July 8 to July 26 and Session II will run from July 29 to August 16. Residents may only register for one session. Mail-in applications and procedure instructions are available in the Town of Babylon Parks and Recreation Summer Directory, which is scheduled to be delivered to every home in Babylon by the second week in May. All mail-in registrations must be postmarked by June 21. Levels, fees and times vary at each pool. All the information you need can be obtained by looking in the directory or by calling the Parks Department at 631-893-2100.
