We’d do well to remember A large beautiful boulder graces the entranceway to the commuter parking lot in Lindenhurst Village. It stands tall and strong, and as a symbol of those men and women within our community to help support their families and keep the economic engine of our country running by heading into the city and other parts westward every day. We’d like to see that rock dedicated to those commuters who lost their lives September 11. It seems like a fitting and appropriate tribute to them all. We understand that the Long Island Railroad is finalizing plans for some renovations there and it would be wise for the Village to wait until those plans are complete before making a final decision on any design. But certainly including that commemorative rock in the final scheme of things at that commuter lot is something the Village should promote. We would also suggest that in every commuter lot within our communities some recognition be made of those we lost September 11. Their contribution to our society, and the ultimate price they paid for going to work every day and living as good, decent people and citizens should never be forgotten.
