Suffolk County Police investigates robbery of church bingo money

The Suffolk County Police First Squad Detectives are investigating the robbery of church bingo money taken at gunpoint from a church employee.

Joseph Moore, the business manager of St. Cyril & Methodius Church, had just withdrawn $5,000 in cash and coin from the Bank of New York, 1948 Deer Park Ave., Deer Park and returned to the church. As Moore pulled up in his vehicle, two Hispanic males confronted him. One of the men pointed a handgun at Moore and demanded money. The subjects fled in a dark blue vehicle.

The subject with the handgun is described as a Hispanic male, 25 to 30-years-old about five feet, nine inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt. The second subject was not described. Moore was not injured in the robbery.
