West Babylon’s High School drama club performed musical Fiddler on the Roof

Oops they did it again. They played to a full house. The students of West Babylon’s High School drama club performed in the musical Fiddler on the Roof over a three-night period, February 7, 8 and 9. A matinee performance was held on Wednesday, February 6, for the senior citizens of the West Babylon community. These fine talented students received nothing but phrase and positive comments from young and old alike.

Matt Burns gave an excellent portrayal of Tevye, the father. And by any chance if you were distracted Grandma Tzeitel (Katie O’Toole) was quick to grab your attention with her "spirited" dialog. Joe Barone, chorus and drama director, has done an excellent job working with these students. This year, Mrs. Mase, one of the new chorus teachers, was on hand to help.

The "orchestra pit" was led by Lou Gallo, music director. These fine young musicians were lucky enough to work under an excellent conductor. The teachers put a lot of their time and talent to help these students give an outstanding performance both on stage and in the pit. Watch for their next performance, Steel Magnolias, coming this spring.
