TOB has free firewood available for residents

The Town of Babylon’s Public Works Department recently announced that the Town is making firewood available to all its residents on a first come, first serve basis.

Residents may pick up a maximum of 40 pieces at the Town of Babylon highway yard, 1023 North Indiana Ave., Lindenhurst. The highway yard will be open for firewood pick-up Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to noon.

"This is a great way for Babylon residents to replenish their firewood supply," said Town Supervisor Steve Bellone. "Load up on firewood today, and you’ll have a seasoned wood pile ready for next winter."

Residents are urged to call the Department of Public Works at 631-957-3161 with any questions.
