•The library welcome back V.O.I.C.E.S. Sunday, December 16, 2 p.m. to perform the radio play A Christmas Presence. Pick-up free tickets to the performance at the library.

•The Babylon Library will be hosting a bus trip to Nassau Coliseum Tuesday, January 29, 2002 for the Islanders vs. the Devils. Tickets are $44 per person. The bus leaves the library at 5:30 p.m. Please call the Circulation Desk for further information.

•The next regularly scheduled Board meeting of the Babylon Public Library will be Monday, December 17, 5:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

Bay Shore/Brightwaters

•The library will be celebrating its 100th birthday December 19. The library will be having a big birthday bash and tree planting. Open house is from 2 to 5 p.m. and the anniversary will be celebrated at 3:45 p.m. with entertainment for all ages, presentations, balloons, cake and more. A Century Tree, a gift from the Bay Shore/Brightwaters Library Club will be planted in front of the library. The Community Clock, a gift of the community and the Chamber of Commerce will also be unveiled. The Bay Shore Post Office has arranged a one-day-only postal cancellation to mark the birthday. It will feature a picture of the library and the zip codes for both Bay Shore and Brightwaters. A Post Office van will be parked at the library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

•Come to the library Wednesday, December 19, 7 p.m. for the Young Adult Christmas movie, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This showing is free, all are welcome.

•The library will be showing the movie The Family Man, (rated PG-13, 126 mins.), starring Nicolas Cage and Tea Leoni,Thursday, December 20, 1:30 p.m. No registration required.

•The Lights on Literature book discussion program will be held at the library Wednesday, December 19, 7:30 to 9 p.m. Librarian Nell Brosnan will lead this discussion on the book Ragtime by E.L. Doctorow. Please register for this program at the Information Desk. The general public is invited to attend.

•The Beginners Internet Users Group will meet at the library Thursday, December 20, 10 a.m. to noon. Please note that this is a date change from the library newsletter. The Internet Users Group will meet on the same date from 7 to 9 p.m.
