Army Capt. Laura P. Putnam decorated with the Army Commendation Medal

Army Capt. Laura P. Putnam has been decorated with the Army Commendation Medal for dutifully completing a military obligation or term of service in a commendable and distinguished manner.

The medal is awarded to those individuals who demonstrate outstanding achievement or meritorious service in the performance of their duties on

behalf of the Army.

Putnam, an assistant training officer, is assigned to the 84th Engineer Combat Battalion, Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii.

She is the daughter of James T. and Corinne J. Hyland of North Babylon.

Putnam graduated in 1993 from North Babylon High School, and received a bachelor’s degree in 1997 from Clarkson University, Potsdam.
