The annual 5K Fun Run, Walk and Jogathan in West Islip was held recently.
The winners of the 5K race are: first male student: J.C. Collins, (17.31); Charles Spiniccha and Gary Jensen, (both 19:02); first female student: Brittney Finnegan, (23:52); first runner with a pet: Dixie Troiano, (26:31); first district employee: Donna Ricci, (29:53); first school administrator: Dick Zeitler, (33:16); first mother and son team: Eileen and Andrew Catalano, (36:59); first father and son team: Dan and Dan White, (37:14); first family: Hajduk/Schettirio, (38:03); first substance abuse task force member: Theresa Parrish, (40:09); first police officer: Marie O’Donnell, (40:15); first set of twins: Morgan and Bridget, (40:15); first PTA member: Jackie Wilson, (52:00); and first Board of Education member: Barbara McAteer with husband Tom, (52:33).
Monies raised are used for substance abuse awareness education in the school district.
