A carnival attraction

Third graders at John F. Kennedy Intermediate School, in the Central Islip School District, attended a fun-filled carnival. Although there were balloons and popcorn, this wasn’t any ordinary carnival; it was a math and science carnival. The main attraction were 25 events, which were set up at different booths located in the school gymnasium. There were several projects at each station, half math and half science related. Students received a sticker after successfully completing each project. Students also were given a bag of popcorn and a John F. Kennedy change purse for participating in the math and science carnival.

In the picture, left to right, are John F. Kennedy students Robert Effinger, Robert Perepezko and Jamie Capone working on a project at the third grade math and science carnival.
