Babylon Village board meets
by Carolyn James
At the Babylon Village Board meeting held February 26, the following actions took place:

•Approval was granted to St. Paul’s Church to hold a Sunrise Easter Service at the Gazebo April 15, 6:30 a.m.;

•Trustee Ralph Scordino announced that applications are being accepted for summer employment in the Village’s pool, highway and parks and recreational departments. Youngsters must be at least 16 years of age to apply. Applications are available at Village Hall;

•the board heard from resident Kerry Blake of Perridale Court who notified them that the no left turn sign at the exit of the parking lot of the old Barbizon building, not being used for professional offices, is down. Part of the stipulation of agreement between the building’s owner and the Village is that vehicles exiting the parking lot on to Perridale Court turn right only toward Little East Neck Road. The Mayor said he would be down to the site the following day and take care of the matter;

•resolved to approve installation of a stop sign on Tappan Avenue, for which a public hearing was held previously.

The next Village Board meeting is March 27, 8 p.m., Village Hall, Montauk Highway, Babylon.
