Joseph DiPeri, 76, former resident of North Babylon

Joseph Di Peri

Joseph DiPeri, a resident of North Babylon for the past 41 years, died on March 6, 2001. He was 76 years old.

Mr. DiPeri was born in Brooklyn on April 20, 1924. Before his residency in North Babylon, Mr. DiPeri lived in Brooklyn until 1960.

Mr. DiPeri was a construction worker for over 35 years and a member of Cement & Concrete Local 6A since 1946. He also worked at North Shore University Hospital for ten years as a maintenance engineer.

His daughter, Christine Cartelli of Kings Park, remembers that her father was a laid back family man. "My father was a very hard worker and did everything he could for his family," says Christine. She also recalls that her father loved to watch boxing and spend time at the Babylon docks.

Mr. DiPeri was the husband of the late Marian. He is survived by his son Michael DiPeri and his wife Cathleen of Bohemia and his daughter Christine Cartelli and her husband Joseph of Kings Park. He is also survived by his nephew Kenny Jozwicki of North Babylon and five grandchildren. His five other brothers and one sister predeceased him .

Mr. DiPeri reposed at Mangano Funeral Home, Inc. at 1701 Deer Park Ave., Deer Park. A funeral mass was said at St. Cyril Methodius R.C. Church in Deer Park. Interment followed in St. Charles cemetery in Farmingdale.
