Friends in Service Helping (FISH)
Friends in Service Helping (FISH) was established in Babylon approximately 28 years ago, and today remains an all-volunteer, non-profit organization totally dedicated to supporting the people in our community. The financial donations of local businesses and religious organizations, as well as their selfless volunteers, have enabled their charitable deeds to continue.
FISH of Babylon has many facets. Their Family Aid committee provides several local families with clothing, food and emotional assistance. They also support a network of aid to many elderly shut-ins and handicapped people in the community. One of FISH’s most vital services is providing transportation to and from medical appointments. This service is essential to the lives of many of the elderly and handicapped people in the Babylon area.
Additional drivers and telephone volunteers are always needed. They are flexible to your schedule and no training is required. Telephone volunteers work from the convenience of their own homes. All that is requested is one day a month to help others, so please call 631-669-3733 to become part of this truly wonderful organization.
